If you aren’t a regular coffee drinker, a latte is one of the safest options from your local cafe. Lattes are made with foamed milk, creating a sweet and smooth beverage. Lattes contain one or more shots of espresso with the milk poured over it, creating a delicious frothy coffee for you to enjoy. Remember that at Barista Au Lait we have some incredible non-dairy milk alternatives such as soy and almond milk which we can make your latte on. Even better than that, we have some great coffee free alternatives, such as our turmeric, sweet potato or red velvet latte!

Flat White
Flat Whites are an Australian coffee and are extremely popular; however, should not be confused with a latte. A flat white is made with an espresso shot and milk. While a cafe latte uses frothed milk, Australia’s favorite flat white uses smoother (or flatter) milk, which gives the beverage a smoother consistency.

Cappuccinos are probably the most popular coffee options at Barista Au Lait. The cappuccino has multiple layers to it, giving it a range of tastes and textures. It includes a shot of espresso, hot milk and a layer of foamy milk for smoothness. Cappuccinos are finished off with a light sprinkling of chocolate powder, giving drinkers. Cappuccinos are a great way to start the morning or a superb afternoon treat!

As you might know, espresso is the base of most coffees. But were you aware that they can also be enjoyed by themselves? Espresso shots or short blacks are a smaller, more concentrated caffeine hit and are great for those wanting a quick boost of caffeine. It should be noted however that espressos are more bitter than coffees made with milk, making them an acquired taste for some.

Long Black
Long black coffee is a mixture of hot water and two shots of espresso, making it one of the bigger coffee hits you can get. This one is not for the faint of heart! Give it a go if you don’t like sweet or dairy-filled drinks or if you need something strong! Try putting a dash of cold milk in your long black to cut through any bitterness.

Piccolo Latte
If you aren’t quite up for the taste of straight espresso, the piccolo is probably the perfect option for you! Your barista will add a small amount of foamed milk on top of an espresso shot, to cut through the bitterness of the shot and create a smoother and sweeter drink that tastes far stronger than the larger cafe latte.

Do you love hot chocolates? Do you love sweet drinks? Mochas are a great option for you! A mocha is simply a latte with added chocolate powder or syrup. This creates a thicker and sweeter beverage than most coffees, while still containing a hit of caffeine.

Affogatos are perfect for those with a sweet tooth! Our delicious affogato coffees contain vanilla ice cream in a glass with an espresso shot poured over the top! Some venues may even offer you a shot of liqueur on the side such as Baileys or Frangelico. Give this one a try a delicious after-dinner treat!
